Welcome to the Abbey of "La Oliva". We are delighted that you have stopped by to visit us and we hope our page will serve to give you some idea of who we are and what we do. As a community of contemplative monks we belong to the world-wide Order of Cistercians of the Strict Observance more commonly known as "Trappists". Ours is a relatively simple life composed of liturgical prayer, spiritual reading, study, manual labor, particularly making wines, and hospitality. A reception area is where we receive those who come to visit us and facilities are available for those wishing to make a retreat with us.
